| Ghosts & Haunts In Missouri Witch Molly Stories |
We visited this site around 1-2 in the morning. All that was left was the bottom half of the stone in the ground. The top had been knocked off. May be that it wasn't the right location, however this was always the spot where we were told it was. Up off the path of a private road, about 500-600 feet down Greens Bottom road from Caulks Hill Road. Another odd phenomenon from that night that I'll never forget was the inability to light any cigarettes unless we held the lighter over the opening dug in the ground. (The flame was very steady in this position, not a waver at all.) Adam I went to Molly's Grave last night with five other people. My boyfriend is a ghost hunter and agreed to take my little sister and her friends up there because he was worried about them. He has been up there several times and said that every time he goes, the stones have moved. The first time he went, there was only one stone, now there are two, one of which is cracked into a bunch of pieces. They had also moved from where they were the last time he was there. It took some searching in the area to find them. I was terrified and none of us could stop shaking. My sister's friend climbed up the rock face and almost fell back down when she saw something in the woods. Because it's crucial to the story, I will admit, I took a rock from near the gravestones. It was in my pocket and we were sitting in the pit and my leg just started shaking. I have handed it to several people today without telling them what it was and they all started shaking uncontrollably. Truthfully, I wouldn't recommend anyone go to this site. It is not only extremely dangerous, but also illegal. If you do go, don't look for the graves, only go as far as the pit. My sister almost died like five times trying to climb up the rock. Garnet Witch Molly, the full story and legend can be found at this website. The legend here states that the poor lady was split into four parts and each body part was then buried in different locations. It is said that every year the body parts "grow" closer to each other. The head stone is in a deeply wooded area and witchcraft is practiced at this site. The location for the headstone is unknown. We went to Molly's Grave about 10-12 years ago. It was in the Fall. I don't know that it would be referred to as supernatural but with everything dead in the woods the only plant life was growing in the hole in front of the stone where people before us had dug...little white flowers. Adam P.S. I have bad news. Molly's grave is no more. They decided to build houses on the site, which means two things. 1. Molly will be moved, or most likely her body will be completely discarded and 2. Some people in St. Charles are gonna have some really frightening experiences in their brand new houses. D I read the few postings. Surprised by a few of them. The legend of Molly the Witch was talked about a lot when I attend high school at Francis Howell in the mid 1980s. I'd always heard they cut her body in two. The one grave site is at close to the Katy Trail in Greens Bottom but closer to Pitman Hill than Caulks Hill. I Deer Hunted in that location many years ago and could see where people would party around the few remaining tombstones that remained. A few of the graves were actually dug up a few times that I walked by. The other location was on Towers Road in another grave yard behind a house. As far as I know I don't think houses are being built in either location. Someone had wrote a big paper about Molly the Witch who graduated in 1984. I don't remember his name. I remember it really got things stirred up at the time. It mentioned things that were happening to him when visiting the location in Green Bottoms. D Page Back |
