GHOSTS & HAUNTS IN MISSOURI
      THE FOUNDATION STORIES

Growing up in Lebanon, Mo I have heard almost every version of legends for each place listed here! They are all fun to take friends to and scare them "maybe yourself too" and hope that something will happen! One incident one night at The Foundation of Death "as the locals know it as, but "the foundation" as listed here. When I was 16 my younger brother, a friend and I had went there early one spring evening just after dusk. After we had walked around and explored for a while we decided to leave. Nothing scary we where all laughing and being rather light hearted. But then at first the truck would not start. We did not think a lot about it at the time but in retrospect it was my dads truck and very reliable, a well maintained vehicle. There was no problems with the truck prior
nor after. When it finally started and we turned around down the road we drove back by the foundation of death going back to town. Before we reached the site the second time we noticed a soft yellow ball of light seemed to be floating in the field behind the foundation. As we passed it started traveling next to us about 35-40 MPH. I floored the truck and the ball of light accelerated with us up to 60+ MPH. As an inexperienced driver I almost wrecked the truck on the corner, when I gained control and we looked again the
light was gone. I have been back many times with many people as well as alone over the last 14 years and no other incidents have happened since. Also note there are many more graves in the cemetery than is now marked. When I first explored this location 14 years
ago there was about 10 graves the ones in the foundation seemed to form a star and the ones outside had no apparent design. We also noted that all the graves faced every direction except the traditional Christian burial of facing east! But over the last few
years many head stones have been knocked over, stolen, and broken by vandals, and were not replaced, only 3-4 have been sat back up in approximate location but on
west side of grave writing on the west possibly falsely indicating the body would be facing east vs. my original observation! Originally some friends and I bought lime away and began to clean some of the head stones many dated back way into the early 1800's which in theory does not concur with the concrete foundation being used at that time or before. So the house was built after the graves for some reason, on the other hand it was not common to use granite headstones during that time frame either. So would lend evidence to the graves being found after the house burnt. The city has no history of the cemetery except listed as a family plot. Most of these places do have residents or
regular patrol, They do have the right and the ability to shoot trespassers, so explore in stealth mode with extreme caution with respect for both the living and
the living impaired!

I personally have never caught anything at this place. What it is, is an old house place that has long since burnt to the ground. Legend has it when it burnt down the owners discovered the graves there. But truth be known it has graves inside the foundation and surrounding the home. I am not for sure what the real legend on this place is. I have heard numerous stories, but they mostly consist of school kids going there and playing with the Ouija board, and something about when you go there your suppose to see a fog role up over the field towards you.

I have been to all of these places a million times. Lonesome Hill...never caught anything. Maybe it is the time of day or night that we go.Now I have heard a million stories but I myself have never saw anything.  The Foundation..I know it as "The witches foundation." I talked to the owners of the property they said they are witches. How they got there and why I don't know. I do know we have caught pictures of a man with a cloak blowing in the wind. That place is creepy. But alot of teens have vandalized it. I really wish that teens would respect property like that. Memorial Park..same as Lonesome Hill. I personally have never caught anything there. That doesn't mean there isn't anyhting at those places I just haven't seen them.
