Haunted Cemetery, at the August A Busch Memorial Wildlife Area, located
off Hwy 40. Take the last exit on your left (west bound 40) before you cross
Dardenne Creek. Take this road for about 1 mile and turn right or north
for another 1/2 mile, Dardenne Creek Trail will be on your right at the
northeast corner of lake 33. It's back behind the spillway. Go down to
where Dardenne Creek Trail is, and you'll see what was once a gravel road,
blocked off by a chain. Follow that road as best you can, every time you
come to a fork in the road go right. You have to walk through a creek at
one point because the bridge is gone. Then pick up the trail again. There
are a few times where you have to guess at where the trail is, because it's
all over grown. But for the most part it's not that difficult to get up there.
The cemetery used to be attached to an old church that burned down
around the civil war. There are reports of paranormal activity at this
cemetery.
