The Old Welsh Baby Carriage Factory, located at 1535 S. 8th in St. Louis. This was the former location of The Darkness Haunted Theme Park, which has since relocated to another site. Johnnie Brock's still maintains storage on the top two floors. In August of 1983 a wall of the old building broke away from the five-story west wing of the L-shaped structure, collapsing on a car and killing a woman in her vehicle. This site was once a Civil War hospital and prison and was later converted to a shoe factory and baby carriage factory. Current plans for the site are for the construction of a $29.2 million loft apartments project and retail space. MAP Newport Bridge, located in Webster Groves on Newport Ave at the rail road tracks. The story here dates back to the late fifties or early sixties when a train accident known as the Tuxedo Train Tragedy killed two children named Jack and Hannah on their way home from school. Visitors report smelling roses, and the apparitions of the children themselves have been seen sitting on the bridge with charred clothing and burned skin. Sometimes burned items such as books or charred pencils have been found on the ledge of the bridge. This story lacks documentation, anyone with more info such as the last names of the children or date of the accident, please contact me with the details. I don't have the address for this abandoned home or a lot of information about the history or details about the haunting going on at this site location. The best info I have come across is from on line members who has visited this site. Here are some of the letters I have recieved. MAP St. Matthews Cemetery, located on the SW corner of Bates Street and Morganford Road. I have not yet received any details about the haunting reported to occur here.
