From where I-70 (also called US 40) meets SR13, take SR13 north for 18 miles, where its name changes in town to North 13th Street. Go down another .4 mile to the parking lot for the Civil War battlefield. This historic home was fought over and captured by both the Union and Confederate armies. It's said that people report feeling uneasy and objects have been said to move inside. Go down .3 miles on Main Street until you reach North 17th Street, turn left or north on North 17th Street and go down it .2 miles to Washington Ave; it will be on your right. Marine Hall is one of the barracks for the cadets. It's reported to be haunted by a student who hung himself there. Apparitions have been seen, and noises heard. Also, the showers are known to turn on by themselves. When Civil War re-enactments are held, this school is sometimes open to the public. Check the web page above for re-enactment dates.
