Alexander Major's Home, located at 8201 State Line Road. The cross streets are West 83rd Street and West 81st Sreet. This home is haunted by the ghost of Louisa Johnston, who spent her life restoring the mansion.
Hotel Savoy, in the 200 block of West 9th Street. The cross streets are Wyandotte Street and Central Street, 816-842-3575. Room 505 is haunted by the ghost of a woman who has been known to turn the water in the shower on, and the 7th floor is haunted by a ghost who likes to slam doors and turn on the steam vent heating system, which has been capped off and not used in years. Also the basement is haunted, some employees refuse to go down there.
Vaile Mansion, located east of the city at 1500 North Liberty Street. The cross streets are West Jones Street and North 2nd Street. Tour info phone number 816-325-7430 or 816-325-7111. Tour hours M-S 10-4 pm and Sun 1-4 pm, Apr-Oct. Built by Harvy Merrick Vaile, this 30 room Mansion has ghosts which have been photographed.
Epperson House, 5200 Cherry Street. The cross streets are E 52nd Street and E 54th Street, located in the middle part of the city. This house, now owned by the school, has more than one ghost. Outside on the road a policeman while in his car was hit from behind by a phantom car, it pushed his car forward with the sound of crunching metal and breaking glass heard. When he got out of his car to see who had hit him, the other car had vanished and his own car was undamaged, but had left skid marks from where it had been pushed. The cross streets here are Pennsylvania Ave to the northeast and Mill Street to
the southwest. This location is reported to be haunted.
Elmwood Cemetery, located at 4900 East Truman Road 816-231-0373. The
cross streets here are Elmwood Ave and Van Brunt Blvd. Ghost research investigators from Kansas City report this cemetery is very active with
