| Ghosts & Haunts In Missouri Haunted Dairy Queen Stories I wanted to tell you of a place near my house that is believed to be haunted. It is the Dairy Queen on Clarkson and Clayton Road, in Ellisville, Missouri. Somebody was murdered there way back in 1979, back when Clarkson Road was just a two lane road out in "the sticks" a few years after the store was first opened, a female manager named Marge (uncertain of last name) was counting down drawers after hours and after everybody else went home. An intruder reportedly snuck in the unlocked back door, slit her neck and left her in the sink to die. I am unsure of whether the intruder stole money, but police believed the murderer to have known marge. Investigators said that had she been found, during any time of the night, she could have been saved, and that she had stayed alive bleeding in the sinks almost until the morning shift arrived. This has all been varified by Marge's son, who stopped into the store about a year ago, and also by a middle aged lady who just started working there again, who had also worked there back around the time of the incident. She said that right after it happened, strange things started happening, she was vague, but said something to the effect of objects being found in different spots than they were left, and so on. Nothing has been seen there at night, but if you are the only one in the store at night, you are greeted with a strong unwelcoming feeling, and it's pretty creepy, I have been there in the middle of the night, and so have a few of the managers whom have worked there for a few years, I think everybody agrees they get an unwelcoming feeling and feel like they are being watched even though they are the only ones in the store. SM Hey, I was just on your website look-in at your stuff and I came across the Dairy Queen story. My sister and I work there now and we've heard all about the lady who got killed. We haven't really noticed anything weird happen, but alot of our coworkers have noticed a few things. Like sometimes one of us will be opening up the store and we'll be the only one in it and it feels like someone else is in there too. One time a guy who used to work there was opening the store and he swears he kept seeing someone walk past the door to the grill room. My sis and I are good buds with the managers, so we unusually stay with them at night when we close up the store. My good bud (who is a manager), well his lil sis works at DQ too and she said that she was mixing up a blizzard and saw some of the M&M's flying out of the container on the counter, but before we left we stopped in the store so everyone could use the bathroom, and it was so cold (colder than usual) and there was just a feeling of uneasiness, like you knew you were alone but it felt like someone might be hiding somewhere in the store. somewhat creepy, but i guess that feeling could go for anyone going into work at 1am with all the lights off. so i dunno. anyway, we went to a haunted rd last night. we didn't really find anything too creepy, but gosh it took forever to get out. we walked for a long time (till about 5am). I looked at some of the pix on the site and we walked over all of the train bridges. We kept switching from walking on the path to walking on the tracks (they intersect at several points). we all heard various stories about what may be haunting the trail and tracks, but they all sounded like some suburban legends. i would like to confirm that it's a lil dangerous, esp. because it would take you forever to get help if you needed to get out of the forest and it's easy to become disoriented. anyway, i hope all this info helps with the site! email me if you need any other info about DQ. If you have experienced strange phenomena at this site, e-mail in your story to add to our database. Page Back |
