Ghosts & Haunts In Missouri

Devils Ice Box Cave, located south of Columbia. From where US 63 meets SR 163, take SR 163 west for 4.7 miles. The cave will be on your left in the park. Glowing apparitions have been seen in this cave where deaths have occured inside, and others have reported strange feelings from the cave.

Stephens College. On the 1300 block of Walnut Street, with the cross streets of Ripley Street to the east and College Ave to the west. 573-876-7259. The senior hall bell tower is said to be haunted by the ghost of a woman named Sarah June who hung herself after the murder of her lover, a Confederate soldier  whom she was hiding out from Union troops. His name was Isaac Johnson. Stories from visitors to this site.

The Missouri Theater, 203 South 9th Street 573-875-0600. At the cross streets of Locust Street and Elm Street.The ghost of an early owner makes his presence known by making the curtains go up and down and clanking noises.

Tiger Hotel, located at 23 South 8th Street Columbia, MO. 65201. Phone 573-875-8888 or  888-875-8222. Now also known as the Tiger Columns which is run as both an hotel and retirement center. This old hotel dates back to 1928 and has a
reputation for being haunted.

Ellis Library, located at the corner or South 9th Street & Conley Ave. The building is named after Elmer Ellis, the thirteenth president of the University of Missouri.
