| The cemetery is actually up near lake 33. It's back behind the spillway. You go down to where Dardenne Creek Trail is, and you'll see what was once a gravel road, blocked off by a chain. Follow that road as best you can, every time you come to a fork in the road go right. You have to walk through a creek at one point because the bridge is gone. Then pick up the trail again. There are a few times where you have to guess at where the trail is, because it's all over grown. But for the most part it's not that difficult to get up there. The cemetery used to be attached to an old church that burned down around the civil war. There's definitely some activity up there. L I've been to this cemetery a few times, taken pictures and such. Definately had some odd feelings, though not negative ones. I spent about an hour in the cemetery last time I was there, there was an odd feeling of sadness, I actually located the grave where it felt the oddest and wrote down the name of the person that was buried there, I normally wouldn't do that but there was a very intense feeling attatched to that name and I couldn't ignore it. I can't remember what the name was, only that it was a girl. I haven't been there in about a year, (last time I went during hunting season and didn't realize it) There was a guy hunting from a tree stand in the woods, scared me half to death! I did take pictures but didn't get anything odd in them.... i'll have to go back again sometime. I also remember the murders quite a few years back, and that one was found in busch wildlife, it was sad. I used to hike in this area every weekend for years with a friend of mine. There are in fact two cemeteries in this park. There is one that is in the north west area. When you hike you start out in the parking lot until you reach the fork which is about 3/4 of a mile up. Take the left fork. You will walk past the natural spring with a marker which says you are one mile into the trail. It's about one more miles worth of a walk up the trail. You will walk past the historic old chimney on the left which you see as you walk up the side of one hill and look down at the creek on the left. Keep walking north and you will see a metal shack that is overgrown on the left, and you keep walking north past that too. Once the trail is at the northern most point you will see a swampy lake with a man made brim on it's north side. The cemetery is to the west of that at the base of the hill on the northern east tip. There is a very ornate head stone with a metal black iron fence around it from some reverend of a church. I once took home a picture someone left behind at the head stone from the 1800's. I thought maybe I could clean it up and see an image and could not. I later took the little picture and put it back - and chances are you can still find it there today. There are maybe 10 - 12 head stones in all different states of disrepair and overgrown with all kinds of vines. The ground is fairly flat there with a gradual slope down towards the north. In the summer there are some flowers people planted there that took hold and blossom all near the place. One quick and scary fact about that swampy lake is if you hold your compass while walking along the northern brim - the needle does not point north. It will point in all different directions. It's kind of creepy. The cemetery there is a little scary but not much, it feels kind of depressing. If you walk along the ordinance works to the north - that is extremely creepy with strange vibes that are strong. The state dumps road kill and other dead creatures along the north there and has it marked with a sign as road kill. There is another area near it with an old building which has thousands of various bones from birds to cows just outside of it. That place is super creepy. Especially the old building there which has busted toilets and broken items all in it. Pretty much any building still there from the ordinance works has a bad vibe. I've heard there used to be a lot of devil worshiping near the place, but this is what people told me who could have been making up stories. Although it is a scary place so it's possible. The other cemetery I tried to find using the new google earth program which is free. You can look at the park from satellite images which you turn in 3-D. I only found this cemetery twice and it was hard to find, so this info might be a little inaccurate if you try to get to it. There are no roads or ways to find it other then the topography and a good eye. A chain link fence which seems only 30 or so years old surrounds it. To find it you take the same trail north and go left at the fork past the natural spring which is starting to turn into a lake now at the 1 mile mark. When the trail turns to the right there are hills on the left side behind the field. Where the three bumps in the hill meet you walk up the center bump in the hill. You climb up, then it flattens out almost flat half way up and then there is a gradual slope upwards. climb to the tip of that middle hill and it is there with the head stones facing the east. Come to think of it the stones at the northern cemetery face the same direction. Anyway this cemetery isn't very creepy at all. There are maybe 6-8 headstones if my memory is still good.
